Our first year of Get Into Rugby has officially wrapped up, and what a season it’s been! Each week, up to 20 eager little players turned up to learn new skills, make friends, and fall in love with the game.
Big thanks to Coaches Oliver Loughlin, Bryan Stokes, Barry Sheridan and Josh Poyner for their incredible energy and dedication. Their passion made each session something to look forward to.
We also had six Eltham players take part in Rugby Victoria’s formal program, travelling to other clubs to experience Saturday match day drills. It was a great way to complement their Wednesday night training, and the medal ceremony at Powerhouse was a wonderful way to finish the season.
One of the best parts of the season? Seeing the kids gather on the old green chair in the clubhouse, filling the space with laughter and energy. Their presence brings so much warmth to the club. A huge thanks also to the parents who stepped up, got involved, and made the experience even better for everyone.
If you’ve got a child under 7 and are thinking about trying rugby in 2026, now’s the perfect time to reach out to our Junior Coordinators ([email protected]). No experience needed – we’ll support every child, from their first pass to their first game. Let’s keep growing the game together.
