Our clubβs current Constitution needs refreshing to reflect how the club operates and to reflect changes in Victorian legislation. The Associations Incorporation Reform Act 2012 introduced new requirements for incorporated associations, so itβs time for an update that ensures Eltham Rugby remains compliant, transparent, and future-ready.
The Committee has drafted a new Constitution based on the Consumer Affairs Victoria Model Rules, using them as a foundation while tailoring key sections to suit how our club actually runs today. The proposed updates:
-
Modernise our rules to reflect current communication methods (like email instead of post) and virtual meetings.
-
Clarify membership categories β including Life, Junior, and Volunteer Members.
-
Formally recognise the role of our Junior Coordinators as full committee members.
These updates will help us stay aligned with legislative standards while reflecting the way our club and community operate in 2025.
Members will vote on adopting the new Constitution at our Annual General Meeting in November.
