ANNUAL CHRISTMAS TREE FUNDRAISER – PRELIMINARY DATES FOR VOLUNTEERS
Eltham Rugby relies heavily on the income from its Annual Christmas Tree Fundraiser. This has become, over a couple of decades, a well-known and appreciated service to the local community. For 3 weekends each Friday, club members collect trees freshly cut in country Victoria. Trees are typically unloaded early on the following Saturday morning and sold through the rest of the weekend. Volunteers sell and deliver the trees.
Sales volunteers are needed from early on Saturday, and Sunday for self-chosen hours until all trees are sold that weekend.
Delivery volunteers are needed for self-nominated hours with suitable delivery vehicles from late morning through to early evening Saturday and Sunday.
This may sound like a daunting request so close to Christmas, but it is a very sociable activity, that helps others enjoy their Christmas. Volunteering also provides a wonderful opportunity to get to know people that really care about our small community club.
As always festive food donations are greatly appreciated by hard-working club volunteers (and tree customers!)
