Well, any records set on the first weekend for the time taken to sell 250 Christmas trees were well and truly broken last weekend, such is the demand for our high-quality trees. In just under four hours on Saturday alone, we sold 150 trees! We are really very grateful for the support, patience and goodwill of our customers in what was a hectic weekend of sales activity. And we are so very grateful for the efforts of our remarkable club volunteers who cheerfully pitched in to deliver a very successful weekend of fundraising for the club. A big thanks once again to our wonderful sponsors – James (GoPlay https://www.goplay.net.au) and Roger Iacobucci (Trees R Us) – for their indispensable support in the collection, storage and delivery of trees, and Chris Holland and Aisea “Wise” Naulago. A special mention to Shane Slater who juggled multiple commitments over the weekend, including his son’s birthday party at The Pancake Parlour on Saturday night, but ensured that our trees arrived in great condition and ready for sale. Of course, where would we be without our “numbers man” and premier tree-stacker, Alan Steel? It is the relationship that Alan has built up over the years with our suppliers that has allowed us to maintain our supply of trees even when there are shortages. Our army of volunteers – the Hansen family (Nadine, Tor, Kiki, Aksel and Nilü), Graeme Medley, Ange Southwood, Sylvia Metcalfe, Victor Murray and his sons Travis and Trent, Russ, Cath and Ben Hurdle, John Tayler, Tim Adams, Rob and Sam Gore, Dan Zinga, Xavier Kvalic, Monty Higginson-Ford, Bennie Van Der Merwe, the Navuni family (Claire, Marika and Ezekiel), and Simon and Alex Dodd– a simply fabulous effort that epitomises what club spirit is all about.
This coming weekend is our last for tree sales….and we have at the time of writing NO DELIVERY DRIVERS FOR SATURDAY OR SUNDAY! Please, spare a bit of time and make the effort to help our club to a great finish in 2022. Sign up at the following link:
