Funding Success: Eltham RUFC Awarded ‘Change Our Game’ Grant

We’re excited to announce that Eltham Rugby Union Football Club has been awarded a $5,000 grant through the Victorian Government’s Change Our Game initiative. This funding is a major step in expanding opportunities for girls and children with disabilities to get involved in our great sport.

In partnership with Rugby Victoria, Catholic Ladies College, and Concord School, we’ll be rolling out a tailored touch rugby program in Term 3. These sessions will introduce students to the fundamentals of rugby in a fun, inclusive, and non-contact environment.

Following this, we’ll invite participants to further training at the club, with the potential to introduce contact rugby for those interested. The program will culminate in two exciting events in Term 4:

  • A Girls’ Rugby Tournament, and

  • The return of our All Abilities Rugby Tournament.

This initiative reflects our club’s commitment to inclusivity, community engagement, and growing the game for future generations.

A huge thank you to Sylvia Metcalfe and Alana Reisima for their hard work in applying for this grant and making this opportunity possible.
