From Eltham to Milan: Sylvia’s Research recognised Internationally

We’re thrilled to share that Sylvia Metcalfe has received international recognition for her extraordinary contribution to medical research.

Before retiring, Sylvia was Professor of Medical Genetics at the University of Melbourne and Group Leader of Genomics in Society at the Murdoch Children’s Research Institute.

At this year’s European Society of Human Genetics conference in Milan, she was awarded the prestigious ELPAG Award for her work on the Ethical, Legal and Psychosocial Aspects of Genetics. The award highlights her commitment to improving public understanding of genomic testing and supporting families to make informed decisions.

Congratulations, Sylvia—what an inspiring achievement!
