Eltham Rugby Club has been proudly promoting girls’ rugby within the community, and we’re thrilled to share that our efforts have been boosted by a recent grant. This funding has allowed us to deliver PE sessions at CLC Ladies College, introducing more girls to the fun, fitness, and teamwork that rugby offers.
Recently, Rugby Victoria hosted an all-girls Tri Tag Rugby Tournament — a non-contact format that celebrates speed, agility, and teamwork. It was a full day of action, with the CLC girls playing an impressive five games. The school fielded two enthusiastic teams, with one finishing an outstanding 2nd place in the finals!
A huge congratulations to all the girls for their effort, energy, and sportsmanship. Eltham Rugby’s own Alana Sua (Co-Junior Coordinator) and Coach Ari Sua were there to guide and support the teams. With the sun shining and smiles all around, it was fantastic to see the girls forming new friendships, growing in confidence, and loving every moment of the game.
A big thank you to Rugby Victoria for hosting such a well-run and enjoyable event — it was a hit with all the players!
If you or someone you know is keen to give rugby a try, we’d love to welcome you down at Eltham Rugby. Whether you’re new to the game or looking to get back into it, there’s a place for you here.
