Thursday Nights at Eltham Rugby Club – Where the Community Comes Together!

There’s no better place to be on a Thursday evening than down at Eltham Rugby Club! The grounds have been buzzing with energy as our girls’ training and community touch sessions continue to grow, with more than 60 players and supporters turning up each week.

It’s been fantastic to see so many familiar faces returning and plenty of new ones joining in the fun.

A huge thank you to Leigh for keeping the BBQ sizzling each week, your efforts don’t go unnoticed! The smell of sausages on the grill adds to the great atmosphere, and gold coin donations are always welcome to help support the club.

It’s been amazing to see both junior and senior players getting stuck in during the off-season, staying fit, sharpening their skills, and enjoying some light-hearted competition. The vibe around the club has been brilliant, with people catching up, sharing a laugh, and soaking up the evening sun with a drink from the bar while watching the games unfold.

Our girls’ training runs from 5:00pm–6:00pm, and it’s been wonderful watching the group grow in confidence and teamwork each week. After training, many of the girls have been jumping in for a few rounds of community touch (5:30pm–7:00pm), joining the juniors and seniors for some fast-paced, friendly games. Their enthusiasm and energy have been infectious!

Thursday nights have truly become a highlight of the week, a mix of rugby, fitness, friendship, and fun. Whether you’re playing, supporting, or just keen for a social evening out, everyone is welcome. So come on down, grab a snag, cheer on the teams, and be part of the Eltham Rugby community spirit.

See you on Thursday!
