Thirty years in rugby will teach you a thing or two. Arron Dalgarno has been involved in the game since he was six years old — as a player, a competitor, and someone who has lived and breathed rugby across three decades.
A neck injury brought his playing days to an end, but it didn’t bring his involvement in the game to an end. Not even close. Coaching felt like the natural next step — a way to give back to a sport that has given him so much.
As the Senior Forwards Coach at Eltham Rugby, Arron brings exactly what you’d expect from someone with that depth of experience: structure, standards, and the kind of habits that hold up when the pressure is on.
“We’ll build habits that stand up under pressure.”
No shortcuts. No excuses. Just consistent, purposeful work — which, not coincidentally, is the one word Arron uses to describe his coaching style: Consistent.
What drew him to Eltham? The people. He’s found a proper community club — the kind he wants his family to be part of for years to come.
His favourite rugby memory? Winning games with his mates. Simple, honest, and everything that’s right about this sport.
Welcome to the coaching team, Arron. The forwards are in good hands. 🖤💛
