Friday night footy always has a certain buzz — even when the draw changes at the last minute.
The U16 girls were all set for the long road trip to Shepparton, eager to continue building on the progress made throughout the season. Unfortunately, a late forfeit by Endeavour Hills against Wyndham meant one of the scheduled fixtures couldn’t go ahead, changing the evening’s draw.
Despite the disruption, Brimbank and the combined Shepparton/Northern/Eltham side still took to the field in an entertaining, hard-fought contest. Brimbank came away with a 51–20 victory, but the scoreboard doesn’t tell the full story.
The players showed plenty of determination, resilience and team spirit, refusing to give in against a well-drilled Brimbank outfit. They worked hard for one another, with strong attacking passages and courageous defence highlighting the improvements made as a team.
With just two rounds remaining in the regular season, the focus now shifts to next Friday night’s clash at Brimbank. Well done to all the players, coaches and families for their commitment, especially those who made the journey. 🖤💛
