Our juniors on Saturday, our Seniors on Sunday. Two days of fast, fun seven-a-side rugby in the black and gold.
What a weekend of rugby! 🏉
The Bendigo Goldfields 7s gave Eltham Rugby two full days of running rugby, and our players made the most of both.
On Saturday, our U12s, U14s and U18s headed north for a day of junior 7s. Seven players a side means plenty of space, plenty of running and nowhere to hide, and our players loved every minute of it. Our U12s and U18s both made the semi-finals, a fantastic result, and just as importantly, everyone played really hard from the first whistle to the last. That is the Eltham spirit in action.
On Sunday, it was the Seniors’ turn. After a long season, it was great to see them back out together, running hard and having fun in a format that rewards skill, fitness and a bit of daring.
Days like these don’t just happen. A huge thank you to the coaches, managers, parents and supporters who made the trip. Early starts, long drives, a lot of sunscreen and a lot of cheering later, we came home proud of how our players represented the club.
Seven-a-side is a wonderful way to build skills, fitness and friendships, and it is one of the easiest ways to try the game for the first time. If you have ever wondered whether rugby might be for you or your kids, come down to Bridge Street and say hello. New players are always welcome.
Let’s go Eltham! 🖤💛
