Can you help? Eltham’s First Girls Tri Tag Carnival

On Tuesday 18 August, 9am–3pm, Eltham Rugby Club will proudly host our first-ever Eltham Girls Tri Tag Carnival — a new event we hope will become a much-loved annual tradition at our club.

To make this day happen we need our Eltham community to get behind us and help volunteer on the day. Can you help?

The carnival will bring together girls from local colleges, including Eltham College, Diamond Valley College and Parade College, along with our very own Eltham Barbarians team, for a fun-filled day of tri tag rugby, friendship and community.

This event is about much more than what happens on the field. It’s an opportunity to celebrate girls in sport, encourage more girls to experience rugby and create connections between local schools and our rugby community. We want the girls to enjoy themselves, meet new people, build confidence and hopefully make some friendships that continue well beyond the carnival.

Our goal is to make this the beginning of something special for Eltham Rugby Club — a Girls Tri Tag Carnival that we can host every year and continue to grow from season to season. We hope it will become a regular fixture on the local sporting calendar and an event that girls look forward to each year.

The day will also be supported by Rugby Victoria staff, and we would like to extend a huge thank you to Gus Beale and the Rugby Victoria team for their support and encouragement in helping us create more opportunities for girls in rugby.

A special thank you also goes to Sylvia Metcalfe and Alana Sua for organising the carnival and bringing the idea together. It’s fantastic to see our club continuing to build opportunities for girls and strengthen our connections with the wider community.

Of course, events like this don’t happen without volunteers! If you’d like to help out on the day, we’d love to hear from you. Whether you can lend a hand for the whole day or have an hour or two to spare, your support would be greatly appreciated.

We’re excited to welcome all the girls, schools, coaches, families and supporters to Eltham Rugby Club and hopefully kick-start a new annual tradition celebrating girls, rugby and community.

Bring on the first Eltham Girls Tri Tag Carnival!

📣 Calling all Eltham Rugby Club volunteers!

Our first ever Eltham Girls Tri Tag Carnival is happening on Tuesday 18 August, 9am–3pm at Eltham Rugby Club, and we’d love a few extra helping hands to make it a fantastic day.

We’re looking for volunteers who can spare an hour, a few hours or the whole day to help with:

  • 🍴 Kitchen support
  • 🥤 Canteen help
  • 🏉 Setting up the fields
  • 📊 Keeping score
  • 📣 Helping coach our Eltham Barbarians girls team

This is a really exciting opportunity to bring local girls together, introduce more girls to rugby and help grow girls’ rugby in our community.

If you’re free to lend a hand, please let us know! Every bit of help makes a huge difference. Together, we can support girls in our community.
