Hi everyone,
Unfortunately, our club ground will be closed for the next 3 weeks due to significant bird damage. The Corellas have intensified their digging across Bridge Street Oval, targeting grubs beneath the surface.
While council sprayed the ground back in October as a preventative measure (which worked well on other grounds), it appears it has not been effective here. A second spray was applied to target any remaining grubs, but unfortunately, we’ve seen little to no improvement.
To help with the damage, 1 metre of soil has was delivered along the fence line for filling in holes.
The council has been proactive in working with us, and due to the severity of the damage, the ground is now officially closed for reseeding and recovery ahead of the upcoming season.
Please speak with your coaches or coordinators for updates on relocated training sessions during this period.
Thank you all for your patience and understanding.
