Somewhere between the mud, the tries, and the biggest smiles in rugby, Eltham’s Under 8s had a pretty special Saturday.
Our youngest players took on a three-way match at Maroondah Rugby Club this weekend — Eltham against Casey Crusaders and Endeavour Hills. It was a big morning’s work, and they delivered.
The teamwork was outstanding. The perseverance was there from first whistle to last. Their speed keeps improving week after week, their ball skills are getting sharper all the time — and the most beautiful thing to see was everyone getting involved, every single player contributing as part of the team.
This is what the early years of rugby are all about. Building confidence, building friendships, building skills — and having a brilliant time doing it.
