MATCH REPORT | U12s | Round 2 | Eltham vs. Rhinos

If there’s one thing the U12s showed us on Saturday, it’s that this group doesn’t back down. A bit of rain in the air and a tough opposition — the Rhinos brought a real challenge, and our kids met it with heart.

The Rhinos are a formidable side and they came out firing, scoring early to lead 0–7. But Eltham didn’t flinch. Harvey was everywhere — a lung-busting 25-metre chase-down try-saver in the opening minutes set the tone, and his big tackles kept coming all game long.

The score crept out to 0–22 by half-time, but the scoreline tells only part of the story. There were two clean lineouts, crisp ball through the backs, strong hit-ups from Josh, Louis, and Malachi, and some sharp work in the loose from Alex and Max. Our defence forced fumbles and turnovers, and we had genuine pressure at the Rhinos’ try line on more than one occasion.

In the second half, the boys dug deeper. Fraser and the forwards kept earning penalties, the backs moved the ball with intent, and Nas put in a strong run late in the game. The final score of 0–32 doesn’t reflect how competitive this match was — the Rhinos knew they’d been in a game.

A huge thank you to the coaching staff for preparing the boys so well, and to all the families on the sideline cheering them on. Your support matters more than you know.

🏆 Player of the Match: Harvey Su’a — outstanding effort from start to finish.
