Friday night was finals night for our U16 girls, with the action heading to Brimbank for the final games of the season.
The first match saw Wyndham take on Shepparton, with Wyndham finishing the season strongly with a 24–10 victory. It was a competitive game with plenty of strong carries, tackles and pressure from both sides.
The second game saw Shepparton take on Brimbank, with Shepparton finishing the night with a convincing 29–0 win. A strong defensive effort kept Brimbank scoreless, while our players created plenty of opportunities in attack.
Congratulations to Wyndham, who were crowned the U16 Girls season winners, and were presented with their medals from Rugby Victoria to recognise a fantastic season.
A huge congratulations to all our Shepparton/Northern/Eltham players on an awesome season. It has been fantastic watching them develop their skills, grow in confidence and build as a team throughout the year.
A massive thank you to our coach Nick for all your dedication, time and effort throughout the season. Your commitment to developing the players, running training and supporting them week after week has made such a difference. We really appreciate everything you have put into the team.
And a huge thank you to Shepparton and Wyndham for welcoming our players, Amelie and Ava, into your teams this season. It was fantastic seeing them get out there, play rugby, make new friends and be part of such a great group. We are so grateful for the support, inclusion and opportunities you gave them.
That’s a wrap on the 2026 season — bring on 2027! The future is looking bright for girls rugby.
